Dr.Mohamed Farid Saleh has served as Chairman of the Board of the Financial Regulatory Authority since August 2022, pursuant to Presidential Decrees No. 353 of 2022, No. 326 of 2023, No. 323 of 2024, and No. 421 of 2025.

Board of Directors

Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2978 of 2022 reconstituted the Board of Directors of the Financial Regulatory Authority for a four-year term, chaired by the Authority’s Chairman.

Under Article 8 of Presidential Decree No. 192 of 2009 issuing the Statute of the Financial Regulatory Authority, the Board is composed of the Chairman and the following members:

• The two Vice Chairmen
• The Deputy Governor of
  the Central Bank of Egypt, nominated by the Governor
• Five experts in economic, financial, and legal fields, nominated by the Minister of Investment

In accordance with Article 9 of the Authority’s Statute, the Board of Directors is the supreme governing body responsible for overseeing the Authority’s affairs, directing its operations, and formulating and implementing the policies necessary to achieve its mandate and objectives. To fulfil these responsibilities, the Board is empowered to issue final decisions required for the Authority to exercise its functions, without the need for approval from any other administrative entity.
