Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) has concluded 2026 Summer Internship for University Students. Launched as part of the Authority’s strategy to expand financial literacy, the initiative aims to familiarize youth with non-banking financial activities, elevate their skills and prepare them for the labor market through hands-on experience across various FRA departments.

This year’s program witnessed strong turnout, attracting 7,480 applicants—more than double the prior year’s total. FRA hosted awareness lectures benefiting 441 trainees, followed by qualifying exams taken by 333 candidates. Ultimately, 228 trainees were selected for practical training across Authority departments, divided into three cohorts that each completed a full month of training.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Islam Azzam, FRA Chairman presented certificates to participants. He praised their dedication, discipline and drive to acquire knowledge and develop practical skills. He emphasized that investing in human capital and equipping young talent for labor market are core pillars of FRA’s efforts to develop the non-banking financial sector and maximize its contribution to the national economy. He noted that youth are the primary driver of innovation and product development to meet evolving market demands.

He added that the expanding participation of young investors in capital markets and investment funds requires sustained educational outreach to promote accurate financial knowledge, enabling them to navigate financial instruments and make informed investment decisions.

Highlighting the Authority’s educational strategy, Dr. Islam Azzam explained that FRA prioritizes combining theoretical knowledge with practical application—both through “I Invest” platform and tailored university programs—to build a generation capable of driving market growth.

Looking ahead, FRA Chairman stressed the importance of nurturing future leaders to guide the sector. Concurrently, the Authority is expanding its digital infrastructure and strengthening electronic integration with federations and regulated companies. This will enhance data quality, accelerate market analytics and help firms design products tailored to market trends and investor needs.

Dr. Mohamed Abdelaziz, Assistant to Chairman reiterated that university outreach remains a core pillar of the Authority’s financial literacy strategy, with plans to expand programs all over Egypt.

 He noted that the internship builds a lasting bridge between the Authority and academic communities, transforming students into ambassadors who champion regulated investment pathways and raise awareness of FRA’s role in regulating markets and protecting investor rights.

Participating students expressed appreciation for the practical exposure to FRA’s regulatory oversight across capital markets, insurance and non-banking finance. Participants gained valuable insight into FinTech and digital services, observing how FRA fosters market innovation while protecting consumer rights.

The program offered full workplace immersion, placing students in departments aligned with their academic fields while rotating them through key operations. This structure allowed participants to connect classroom theory with real-world application and understand regulatory frameworks alongside industry challenges.

The program targeted majors in economics, accounting, insurance, actuarial science, finance, computer science, PR, media, and law—offering students real-world exposure to corporate and regulatory operations to boost their career readiness.
