Dr. Mohamed Farid, FRA Chairman kicked off the 6th IFE Marathon, titled “We Run Together… We Outpace Danger With Insurance.” This significant event, a collaborative effort with the Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE), was graced by the presence of key leaders, including Alaa Elzoheiry- IFE Chairman, Mohamed Elsayyad – FRA Vice Chairman, Mohammad Ayad – Director of the Authority’s Media Center and senior representatives from Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian insurance sector.
The marathon’s diverse activities collectively championed the critical importance of sports for public health, emphasizing its direct and indirect role in preventing diseases. This core message, consistently promoted by the Insurance Federation under FRA’s supervision, highlights how physical activity fosters robust public health, which in turn empowers citizens and contributes significantly to craft policies that enhance the Egyptian economy’s efficiency and foster comprehensive development.
The marathon included a football match between the famous Egyptian teams Al Ahly and Zamalek with the participation of Dr. Mohamed Farid- FRA Chairman and Mr. Alaa Elzoheiry – IFE Chairman.
In his speech, Dr. Mohamed Farid highlighted that the marathon’s timing aligns perfectly with a pivotal moment for the Egyptian insurance industry: the imminent approval of the Unified Insurance Law. This landmark legislation is set to revolutionize the sector through key provisions, including allowing property insurance companies to diversify into new branches and mandating capital increases for companies.
Dr. Farid also commended the participation of special needs in the marathon, praising the Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE) organizers for integrating special events into the program specifically for them. He emphasized that this inclusivity highlights the insurance sector’s crucial role in community development. Furthermore, he explained that regular exercise is essential for maintaining public health and significantly reduces the risk of various diseases
Alaa El Zoheri expressed his gratitude to both FRA and Ministry of Youth and Sports for their invaluable support and participation in the Federation’s events. He also extended his thanks to all the marathon’s participants and sponsors.
Alaa El Zoheri affirmed that the organization of the marathon is part of the Federation and the insurance sector’s contributions to social responsibility by raising awareness about the importance of running for health, promoting the concept of a clean environment and participating in building a lifestyle based on a healthy community. He added that Regular physical activity helps improve people’s lives and prevent chronic diseases.
Additionally, the Egyptian Society of Cardiology (EgSC) also delivered awareness lectures highlighting the critical role of sports in maintaining overall health and significantly preventing various diseases, particularly heart disease.
