Dr. Mohamed Farid kicks off the fifth edition of IFE marathon titled “Run for Better Health.” The event is co-organized by the Insurance Federation of Egypt “IFE” and is attended by distinguished guests including Alaa Elzoheiry , IFE Chairman , Dr. Mohamed Abd Elaziz, Assistant to FRA’s Chairman and Mohammad Ayad , Director of the Authority’s Media Center and a number of leaders from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian insurance sector.
The Marathon included number of events focused on promoting the crucial role of exercise in safeguarding public health. It emphasized the positive impact of physical activity, both direct and indirect, on overall well-being and disease prevention.
This is the message that is always sent by IFE and FRA highlighting the link between physical activity, a healthy population, and a more productive workforce. Ultimately, the goal is to create better policies that strengthen the Egyptian economy and development.
The marathon included a football match between the famous Egyptian teams Al Ahly and Zamalek, which ended in a thrilling 5-5 draw. Even high-ranking officials like Dr. Mohamed Farid and Mr. Alaa Elzoheiry participated in the event. Also, Representatives of Al Ahly Club attended the marathon namely , Captain Sherif Abd al-Monem, Mohamed Amara-Mohamed Farouk-Hadi Khashaba , Hisham Hanafi-Walid Salah al-Din, in addition to representatives of Zamalek Club , captain Hisham Yakan – Khaled Al Ghandor – Gamal Hamza – Tamer Abd El Hamid.
Dr. Mohamed Farid, FRA’s Chairman delivered a speech to the attendees, emphasizing that the organization of the marathon coincides with a significant event that is expected to bring about a quantum leap in the Egyptian insurance industry: the approval of the Unified Insurance Law by the House of Representatives. This law includes several important points that aim to revitalize the insurance sector and allow property insurance companies to operate in certain other branches for the first time, such as agricultural insurance.
Dr. Farid also commended the participation of people with disabilities in the marathon and praised the organizers from IFE for including special events for them in the marathon program. This, he said, underscores the vital role of the insurance sector in community development.
Alaa El Zoheri, for his part, thanked the Financial Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support and participation in the events organized by the Federation. He also thanked all the participants and sponsors of the marathon.
Alaa El Zoheri affirmed that the organization of the marathon is part of the Federation and the insurance sector’s contributions to social responsibility by raising awareness about the importance of running for health, promoting the concept of a clean environment, and participating in building a lifestyle based on a healthy community. Regular physical activity helps improve people’s lives and prevent chronic diseases. The event also featured informative talks from the Egyptian Society of Cardiology and the Bahia Foundation. These talks focused on the crucial topic of early detection for both heart disease and breast cancer.
