FRA Honors Dr. Mohamed Farid Following His Appointment as Minister of Investment – Sunday 1 March

FRA Board of Directors honored Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, the current Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade and former FRA Chairman, in recognition of his outstanding contributions during his tenure from 2022 to 2026. As a token of appreciation for his career full of dedication and achievement, the Board presented him with the Authority’s commemorative shield.

Dr. Mohamed Farid expressed his sincere gratitude for this gracious gesture, emphasizing that the milestones achieved during his chairmanship were the result of collective effort and seamless cooperation among all the Authority’s staff.

The Minister underscored the importance of sustaining the institutional development process to ensure long-term stability. He noted that FRA remains a fundamental pillar in supporting Egypt’s financial and economic resilience.

During the ceremony, Board members highlighted Dr. Farid’s pivotal role in evolving the non-banking financial sector (NBFS). They praised his strategic vision, which focused on developing regulatory frameworks, enhancing professional competencies across various activities, and deeply rooting the principles of governance, compliance, and effective oversight to protect market participants’ rights.

The Board noted that his tenure marked several landmark achievements, including the issuance of Fintech Law and the implementation of frameworks for innovative financial tools, most notably financial derivatives. This period also witnessed the revitalization of investment fund industry and the launch of gold investment funds – a pioneering tool that diversified savings and investment options for citizens while enhancing market liquidity management.

Board members further commended the progress made in critical areas such as accelerating digital transformation, upgrading FRA’s technological infrastructure, and adopting sustainability and green finance standards. These efforts, combined with developing legislations to align with global economic shifts, have significantly boosted investor confidence and solidified Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub for non-banking financial activities.

Mohamed El-Sayyad and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz – FRA Vice Chairmen, Tarek El-Khouly – Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Dr. Ashraf El-Araby, Dr. Rasha Ragheb, Mr. Tarek Mansour, and Dr. Marianne Azer attended the ceremony. Also present were Dr. Khaled Serry Seyam, and the Assistants to FRA Chairman: Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Counselor Ahmed Sheta, Mr. Walid Anwar, Mr. Hamdy Badawy, and Mr. Mahmoud Gebril.
