- FRA extends its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to those injured.
In accordance with Unified Insurance Law No. 155 of 2024 issued by His Excellency the President of the Republic, FRA Chairman directed the Egyptian Compulsory Insurance Pool (ECIP) to disburse 100,000 EGP in compensation for each deceased of the Eastern Desert Road accident in Samalout, Minya Governorate which resulted in several fatalities and injuries.
Dr. Farid expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, praying for their strength and patience during this difficult time. He also wished a swift and full recovery to all those injured in the accident.
FRA Chairman mandated the Pool staff to fast-track claims for the victims’ families and the injured. He underscored the importance of providing comprehensive administrative support to simplify documentation requirements, ensuring that insurance payouts are disbursed with maximum efficiency and speed.
The insurance policy provided by the Pool covers death and bodily injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents. Under the new law, a compensation of 100,000 EGP is paid for each fatality, while compensation for injuries is determined based on the disability percentage certified by the Medical Commission.
The Pool is currently finalizing all procedures to disburse the compensation amounts stipulated by the new law. As the statutory body responsible for road accident claims under the Unified Insurance Law, the Pool will process all settlements according to the updated coverage limits. Final disbursements will be triggered once the Public Prosecution completes its investigation and the required legal filings are submitted for review.
To ensure financial support reaches those affected immediately, FRA Chairman directed the Pool to monitor the situation closely. He emphasized the need for full coordination with the injured and the families of the deceased to streamline procedures and accelerate the payout process.
The Pool underscores the critical importance of adhering to traffic safety procedures to safeguard lives. Drivers are urged to adjust their speed according to visibility levels -regardless of the posted limit – to ensure they can stop safely in an emergency. Maintaining focus, keeping a safe distance from other vehicles and conducting regular maintenance – particularly on tires and brakes – are essential steps in preventing collisions.
