Court of Cassation and FRA Sign Cooperation Protocol to Launch Joint Training and Expertise Exchange – Thursday 18 September 2025

Judge Assem El-Ghaish, President of Court of Cassation and Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, along with Dr. Mohamed Farid, FRA Chairman signed a cooperation protocol at the headquarters of the Court of Cassation. The protocol aims to organize specialized training programs and workshops to exchange expertise between judges and FRA employees. This initiative is designed to develop legal and technical capabilities and reinforce the principles of justice and the rule of law.

A number of prominent officials attended the signing ceremony from the Court of Cassation and the Supreme Judicial Council. Key attendees included Judge Mohamed Abdel Aal, First Deputy to the President of Court of Cassation, Judge Mohamed Abdel Latif, Vice President and Head of the International Relations Department. This is in addition to Judge Ahmed Refaat, Deputy President of Court of Cassation and Secretary General of the Supreme Judicial Council; Judge Khaled Farouk, Deputy President of Court of Cassation, Media and Political Advisor to the Head of the Supreme Judicial Council; and Judge Sherif El-Shetany, Deputy President of Court of Cassation and Assistant to the Head of International Relations.  A number of senior officials from the Financial Regulatory Authority were also present.

During the meeting, Dr. Mohamed Farid praised the Court of Cassation’s pioneering role in establishing the judicial principles that contribute to the stability of financial markets. He added that the Authority is always committed to strengthening its collaboration with state institutions, particularly the esteemed Egyptian Court of Cassation, to achieve their shared visions and goals.

For his part, Judge Assem El-Ghaish thanked FRA Chairman for the visit and commended the Authority for the important role it plays in safeguarding the national economy.

The protocol stipulates a two-way exchange of expertise to benefit both institutions. Under the agreement, judges from the Court of Cassation will provide specialized training for the Authority’s employees on legal and jurisprudential matters, with the goal of improving their legal and regulatory drafting skills.

On the other hand, the Authority will organize specialized training and workshops for the judges, focusing on the technical and regulatory aspects of non-banking financial legislation to enhance the integration of their legal and regulatory knowledge.

This collaboration between the Court of Cassation and the Authority is a direct result of their shared commitment to strengthen ties and advance Egypt’s comprehensive economic development. The agreement is designed to support business sectors by implementing state reform policies that will improve the economy, drive investment and simplify legal procedures to build a strong, integrated economic system.

The visit concluded with the exchange of commemorative shields, symbolizing the two institutions’ mutual appreciation and shared commitment to ongoing collaboration.
