These figures reflect growing demand among Egyptian expatriates to benefit from tailored insurance coverages.

These results follow the execution of a cooperation protocol between Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Under this protocol, the personal accident insurance policy for Egyptian expatriates and their families was amended and expanded to include optional coverage for arbitrary dismissal for the first time, alongside existing benefits. This initiative aims to maximize benefits for Egyptians abroad and streamline access to policy benefits as part of state efforts to enhance insurance protection and meet expatriates’ evolving needs.

The enhanced policy provides coverage against arbitrary dismissal with compensation reaching up to EGP 100,000. It also covers permanent total disability resulting from an accident up to EGP 250,000, alongside established coverage for natural or accidental death, including repatriation expenses to return remains to the homeland—all for an annual premium of EGP 400.

Dr. Islam Azzam, FRA Chairman emphasized that strong demand for the enhanced policy since its rollout early this month demonstrates the importance of responding to expatriates’ practical needs and providing comprehensive protective instruments tailored to different labor markets.

He noted that adding arbitrary dismissal coverage directly addresses requests received by the Authority, underscoring its commitment to continuously refine insurance products and regulatory frameworks. He explained that the new coverage provides up to EGP 100,000 in compensation upon proof of employment termination and deportation for reasons beyond the worker’s control, including mass returns driven by political or economic factors.

FRA Chairman highlighted the crucial role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in raising awareness about the new coverages across Egyptian expatriate communities, ensuring broader outreach and benefit uptake. He added that the upcoming 7th Expatriate Conference scheduled for next month presents a key opportunity to promote awareness regarding the policy’s features and benefits.

The Authority affirmed that upgrading expatriates insurance policy forms part of its broader mandate to expand coverage scopes and innovate insurance products, ensuring insurance effectively serves as a key tool for socio-economic protection.

[144
3704,3910,5654
2137,2138

post-25080855","fra_news","type-fra_news","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-press-releases","tag-fra-chairman","tag-dr-islam-azzam","tag-expatriate-insurance-policy","fra_news_taxonomy---en","fra_news_taxonomy-----en
["GET
